By car or with a transfer
You can drive yourself or arrange a car with a driver. The hotel's price list includes Cairo transfers by car, SUV and larger vehicles. Ask the hotel to confirm the vehicle, the pick-up point, the cost and the departure time that gets you there in daylight.
The drive
The road crosses the Western Desert with long straight stretches and few services, so start with a full tank, carry water and snacks, and keep your phone charged. The drive takes less than five hours to the hotel; add time for stops.
Documents and checkpoints
Carry your passport or national ID, as you may be asked to show it at checkpoints on desert roads. Keep the hotel's phone number and your booking details to hand.
Arriving
Aim to arrive before sunset: desert roads are harder to drive in the dark and the view on arrival is part of the stay. If you will arrive late, tell the hotel in advance so check-in (from 14:00) and dinner can be arranged.
Leaving
Check-out is at 12:00. If you plan an outing on your last day, ask the hotel about storing luggage and the best time to start the drive back to Cairo in daylight.
